For the Love of Travel!
In an attempt to keep things fresh on the blog, I’ve opted to write about a variety of topics but in a more uniformed way. I’m trying to get back into the blogosphere slowly, so I thought if I had some sort of plan in place this would help. Every month, I’m going to try and post at least 4 times within these categories: Lifestyle, Travel, Food & Books. These are things I’ve written about a lot over the years anyway, but now I’m going to try and tame the chaos that is my blog. Last week’s post was about self-care and this week I’ll be discussing my love of…

Sh*t They Don’t Tell You About Adulting
Adulting is hard. I can’t tell you how many times I complain a day about having to “adult”. I really wish there was a handy manual that I could refer to when I can’t get my head around something, or better yet – I wish someone had told me what I was to expect when I grew up. Do you ever wonder what life would be like if they had taught us budgeting or money management when we were in school? Things like taxes, mortgages or setting up a savings plan. If you were lucky to have parents who helped you out with that, all I can say is that…

University Confessions
It’s been 4 years since I graduated from university but I’ve been thinking more and more about what I would change if I could redo my university years. This is most likely because my sister is looking at universities now to attend next year, and I remember the excitement of going to open days and the trepidation of leaving home for the first time. My university years are something that I look back on with fondness and also with a hint of annoyance because there are definitely things that I could have done better/differently, but hindsight, am I right? 5 Things I Wish I’d Did At Uni 1. Joined a…

A Letter to my 18-year old self
You can read the letter to my 16-year old self here. Dear Chynna, Where do I even start with you? You’re a literal mess and still about boys ruling your life. I know… you don’t purposely do this. If only time travel existed and I could go back in time and shout at you for getting in a relationship so quickly. In fact if I owned a DeLorean or a TARDIS, Lord knows I would travel so far back to save you. At the same time, there’s all that lesson learnt and shit and you have to learn from your mistakes and you grow from them, blah blah blah. Whatever.…

Ramblings About Degrees
Is it important to have a degree? To a certain extent, yes. In this day and age, employers are looking for more than just good GCSEs and A-Levels. They more than likely want to employ someone they know got a degree from a reputable university. In saying that, sometimes you don’t need a degree. In certain industries, it’s always best to just go straight into work and work your way up the ladder. What annoys me, however, are people who believe that when you finish school, you must go straight into work. That you must climb the ladder to become successful. This is not to say that that still isn’t applicable,…

Wondering
I sometimes wonder what life would be like if young people weren’t pressured into choosing what they want to do with their life, so early on. From the time they do their GCSEs, it’s kind of expected that they’re choosing subjects that will set them up at a good university and onto a good career path. Question in point: Why do people need to desperately know what you want to do in life? I wonder what would have happened had I not gone to university and instead just got a part time job and travelled the world. Would I be worldlier? Or would I just be stuck up and constantly…

Interning and Dating
I consider myself very lucky to be in a job that I not only like, but in a field that I actually studied at university. All this was thanks to the first ever internship I did. As some of my readers might know, I interned at a place called Mutual Media from October 2013. I recently finished that internship to move on to a full time job at Move Digital, and I can honestly say I will miss that place. Not only was I paid at this internship, I also learnt many valuable lessons. Most internships you’ll come across in the UK aren’t paid for 3 months, and even then…

This Is How We Do: Class of 2013
Hello, friends! How have you all been? I was meant to have this post up by Friday, but things got a little busy and I haven’t been feeling too well. Anyway, on Monday I had my graduation! Instead of writing a load about what an amazing day it was (it was) and how it was nice to see all my friends, again, I will provide you with a photo heavy post instead Enjoy! It was a pretty exciting day and I can’t believe I’ve actually finished university, officially! We finished the day by visiting Bella Italia, an Italian restaurant, and then I stayed the night at Mutay’s. We popped some…

Welcome to Singledom
You know what I’d really like? To blog full-time, get paid for it, and be rolling in the money. That would be a dream come true. In other news, it has been a while since I did a blog. As you guys know, though, I have been pretty busy this summer. You should see my iPhone calendar for August, it’s just full of dots! This month is so jam packed, it’s ridiculous but I’m really glad it is because I need a fun summer to make up for the past 3 years of summers which have been mediocre. BIG NEWS: I am turning 21 this month! On the 21st of…

Where’s My Holiday?
You know that you’re too busy when you’ve had to stop one of your internships. Sadly, I had to stop my staff writer internship at Geekinsider.com because I just couldn’t handle writing 3 – 4 articles a week on top of doing assignments for the other internship and working Monday to Friday. Hectic, hectic, hectic. Can’t say I’m bored though. Working back in retail has been… interesting. I forgot how rude some customers can be especially in the area where I work which is known to be quite rough (see story about mad man with bat in previous post). It’s physically demanding as well because I’m constantly on my feet…
