2020 Reflection
Describe 2020 in 3 words The lost year. What were your happiest moments? I did a rundown on my Instagram of my 2020 highlights because despite it being a shit year, there were some good points: Releasing my first eBook, Dear Alopecia Spending time with my family in the Philippines in Jan Moving to my own place What new skills did you learn? Does working from home count as one? I previously had only worked from home a couple of times, but now do it full time until we are able to go back into the office (who knows when?) and wow. Seeing as I primarily work with computers anyway,…

For the Love of Travel!
In an attempt to keep things fresh on the blog, I’ve opted to write about a variety of topics but in a more uniformed way. I’m trying to get back into the blogosphere slowly, so I thought if I had some sort of plan in place this would help. Every month, I’m going to try and post at least 4 times within these categories: Lifestyle, Travel, Food & Books. These are things I’ve written about a lot over the years anyway, but now I’m going to try and tame the chaos that is my blog. Last week’s post was about self-care and this week I’ll be discussing my love of…

What I’m Thankful For
I thought I’d pop this post up whilst I work on a few others that will be coming out over the next few weeks. Also, Christmas is coming up so I’m excited to think up ideas for Blogmas! Although we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, I thought it’d be good to take a moment to write about what I’m thankful for. ? Friends I’ve always believed you are who you are because of your surroundings, what you consume via television, film, books or various other media, your upbringing and family, and most importantly your friends. I am so thankful for the friends that I have in my life who have…

25 Things I’ve Learned In 25 Years
I turned 25 last Monday and I’m still shook because I have no idea where time has gone. I swear it was only the other day that I was celebrating my 18th birthday by having a debut (complete with pink dresses, 18 roses and candles and a whole lot of cheese). Nancy reminded me today that she’s been following me since I was 18. That’s 7 years, guys. Half way to 50 and I’m pleased to say there are a few things I’ve learned along the way, so here are my 25 things I’ve learned in 25 years. Learn to love yourself before getting into a relationship. I think I’ve mentioned…

An Inspector Calls
Did anyone read An Inspector Calls when they were in school? I remember that play being one of my favourites in English, and we would have to read a page at a time in class but I skipped ahead because it was so intriguing. An Inspector Calls is a play by J. B. Priestley which focuses on the upper-class Birling family. They are visited one evening by an Inspector Goole who is investigating the suicide of a young working-class woman, Eva Smith. I remember the twists and turns in the play that kept me gripped throughout and the ending had me shouting, “WHAT THE EFF?” Mutay and I went to see…

Unapologetically Filipinx Jamaican
“They’re your children? Are they adopted?” I remember standing at the bus stop feeling like a melon because a random stranger had asked my mother this question. She was offended, as anyone rightly would be. I was left with a sense that despite my mix I could never truly express my Filipinxness. I felt ashamed. When we think about identity, we usually focus on what we can see. If you were to look at me, you would probably be able to tell that I’m biracial. Living in London I have always had a sense of multiculturalism, which I know I am so blessed to have but growing up there was…

It’s More Fun in the Philippines
I really tried to jump on the Blogmas band wagon, but I fell off way back when and it’s probably not going to happen. Now I’m just behind in my blog posts.. lol, such a failure. This won’t be like my usual travel posts where I detail what I did on each day because honestly most of the days I spent sleeping and eating. It was much needed. As y’all know, unless you don’t follow me on Instagram, I was recently in the Philippines for just under two weeks. It was mainly for family and for my Lola’s memorial as it has been a year since she passed away, but…

Liebster Blog Award 2
This is actually the second time I’ve been nominated for the Liebster blog award – you can read the first post here. Meaghan nominated me for this award, so thank you! All you have to do is answer the 11 questions from the person who nominated you and then you ask your own set of 11 questions to people you nominate! 🙂 1. What is one thing that makes you happiest? Hmm. I would have to say writing because I can just let out all my emotions on paper and instantly feel better/happier. Also, food. And TV, come to think of it (sad life). 2. If you could live for…

Weekly Wishes & Typhoon Yolanda
Hello, friends! How about spicing things up on my blog this week? I’m new to these link up collectives but I’m always looking for new blogs to read and new friends to make. So, I decided to join Mel’s ‘Weekly Wishes’ link up at The Nectar Collective. This week’s photo theme is ‘hobbies’, and so I took a picture that reflected my hobbies = writing – I use my MacBook to write blog posts and stories, a notepad – for all my brilliant ideas, and drinking coffee in my OMG! mug. That’s a hobby, right? 🙂 My week’s wishes include: Getting back on track with NaNoWriMo – this year I…
