    Running Through the 6ix

… with my woes. I have a feeling that this post is definitely going to be my longest out of all the ones I’ll be posting. When I was going through the things we did when we were in Toronto, I actually had no idea how much we did. Admittedly, there are a lot of things that I still want to see in Toronto so a trip back is definitely needed. Canada is actually on my list of places to work abroad and this trip was partly to give me an insight into what Toronto is like. I love Toronto. Being a city girl, Toronto is definitely the sort of place I…

    The Food Diaries // 019

“Food, in the end, in our own tradition, is something holy. It’s not about nutrients and calories. It’s about sharing. It’s about honesty. It’s about identity”. ~ Louise Fresco It has been a hot minute since I last posted an entry to The Food Diaries! Last November, I was invited to Lotus Bar to try out their new Christmas canapés. I also had the opportunity to try out one of their Christmas cocktails, as well! Located on Clapham High Street, Lotus Bar specialises in Italian food making an emphasis on unique flavours. Their recipes come from family secret ingredients and I could definitely tell this when I got to try their…

    Merry Christmas

That’s the presents unwrapped, the turkey eaten, the pigs in blankets devoured, all of the films watched. That’s Christmas done for another year! Can’t lie, I’ve definitely eaten enough to feed a small army today, not mention drank so much Moscato that it’s practically pouring out of my ears. I hope you all had a magical Christmas, wherever you are in the world ~ 2018 is around the corner, so let us all wish for the best in the upcoming New Year. PS. Doctor Who was pretty good this year. Scream for Lethbridge-Stewart. Scream because we have finally got rid of Steven Moffatt. Scream because of the new Doctor’s Yorkshire…

    Friendsmas

Merry Christmas Eve! Tomorrow is officially Christmas — are you ready?! I literally just finished my Christmas shopping yesterday. Since finishing work up for the holidays, I have eaten a ridiculous amount that it’s no wonder that I don’t look like a small whale, right now. I mean as I am typing this, I am eating 😂 That’s my favourite part of Christmas, not that I need an excuse, but the amount of food consumption. To be fair, I should be careful though because I have definitely started to feel the effects of eating too much… At the moment, though, can’t stop, won’t stop! This week, I’ve had three Friendsmas gatherings…

    Borough Market

I wanted to go to several markets to write for this post, but I only managed to visit one with my mum the other day. Nevertheless, I had fun wandering around Borough Market and looking at all the goodies the sellers had on display. I love grabbing a mulled wine from one of the stalls and browsing what’s for sale. With 14 different herbs and spices, the mulled wine I chose was so delicious. I also managed to pick up some fudge from Whirld and beer sticks from Canon & Canon. I also got to smell some truffles, whilst my mum was in the background telling me that they look…

    #AEGTasteofXmas

A blog post in the middle of the week? Yeah, your eyes aren’t seeing things. I realise I’ve been away from the blogosphere for the longest time, but that was entirely unintentional. I’ve been putting most of my time and energy into NaNoWriMo this month and a lot of other things have happened since I last posted, but I’ll write about them slowly but surely and catch you guys up. Anyway, moving on… A few weekends ago, I went to Hertfordshire to join some fellow bloggers in a cooking lesson at The Cookery and had the best time ever. Just need to get this out of the way but is…

    Meeting Amy

My blogger meet up list is becoming extensive and I am LOVING it. This is what I love about the blogosphere – the opportunity to meet up with people you’d probably never meet in your day-to-day life. A couple of weeks ago, I got to meet up with Amy and it was definitely a long time coming. She messaged me to say that she’d be in London and I just knew we HAD to meet up. Gotta take every opportunity you can, especially as she lives all the way in Leeds! I decided that we should go to Carluccio’s, as you can’t go wrong with some good ol’ Italian. We…

    The Food Diaries // 018

When your friend relies on you to take them to the best food places, you kind of have to pull out all the stops. Aside from myself and Mutay’s monthly dinner, I also meet up regularly with one of my friends and take her to what I believe to be the best places to eat in London. There have been some places which have been completely new to me, as well, however, my gut is always right and the places we’ve visited have been amazing. Last month, I decided on Flesh & Buns for our meet up as I had been before and was absolutely floored by how good the…

    The Food Diaries // 017

I’ve been to eat in the Shard one other time and that’s because I won a WeSwap competition and got a £100 voucher for Hutong. (PS. We went over the £100 and had to pay extra, but what did you really expect from me?) Eating in the Shard is the pinnacle of fancy living. High rise restaurants with a 360º view of London? Yeah, you know you’re living the good life. Especially when you have to pay for the water… So, my mother turned 60 last July and you only turn 60 once, right? She decided she wanted to live her best life and so she left it to me…

    The Food Diaries // 016

Feed me tapas and I’m yours forever. In fact, feed me tapas and cocktails, and I will definitely be yours forever. Brixton has a plethora of restaurants to eat at and one day I will eat at all of them. Located inside Brixton Market, Seven at Brixton is a tapas and cocktail bar serving breakfast, lunch and evening tapas. With its mismatched tables and graffiti decor, it’s a cosy little place. Downstairs has an open bar area with seating, which also gave off a rustic feel. It reminded me of this little bar my friends and I stumbled upon when we were in Barcelona. Upstairs are four different rooms that serve…
