    Life Lately 7

I think I’ll be doing a Life Lately every month as my monthly roundup because they’re a fun way for me to go over highlights of the last month or so! This one will be slightly longer than usual because I missed out on posting last week, so bear with me. Also, there are a lot of photos in this one and I bang on about food a lot – nothing new there, to be honest. In very exciting news, I met up with Tara when she came to London and it was so much fun. She is such a sweetheart and even brought me loads of snacks from South…

    Life Lately 6

What’s going on in the land of Chynna? When I first decided to write another Life Lately post, I wasn’t sure I’d have anything to write about but then I started doing my bullet points (something I usually do when I’m writing blog posts) & I came up with quite a few things! Life, in general, has actually been really, really good. January 2019 is probably one of the best January’s I’ve ever had. Usually, right after Christmas and New Year, I fall into a deep pit of “OMG, it’s a new year, I MUST project a new me to everyone and let everyone know my goals” but I almost…

    What I’m Thankful For

I thought I’d pop this post up whilst I work on a few others that will be coming out over the next few weeks. Also, Christmas is coming up so I’m excited to think up ideas for Blogmas! Although we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, I thought it’d be good to take a moment to write about what I’m thankful for. 💕 Friends I’ve always believed you are who you are because of your surroundings, what you consume via television, film, books or various other media, your upbringing and family, and most importantly your friends. I am so thankful for the friends that I have in my life who have…

A Familiar City Called New York

Storytime: Against my better judgement I got into an Uber with a crazy lady. I’ll explain – Mutay and I had just braved a 12hr+ coach journey from Toronto to New York and I wasn’t really feeling to search for the subway to trek all the way to Brooklyn. So, I ordered an Uber. The Uber came pretty quick – he parked, came to help us load our suitcases in the trunk and at this point, I could see he was talking, but I thought he was on the phone or something. Lo and behold when we open the car door, who is sitting there? The previous passenger he had picked…

What’s Made Me Happy This Month

As I write this, I am sitting in a hostel in Iceland and honestly, it still feels like a dream. I don’t think it has hit me yet that I’m on holiday, so I’ll give it a few more days. Regardless, I was meant to have this post up yesterday but as that was the day we were flying out, things also went flying out the window. Have you ever been in place where you think, nothing gets much better than this? Like when you’re eating some really good pancakes or reading a book that you can’t seem to put down? I always find that it’s the little things that…

    January Favourites

January went by in a haze of brokeness, post-Christmas blues and feeling a fat lump because I ate too much. Doesn’t the winter make you want to hibernate and do nothing else? The way London is moving these days, as well, I actually can’t deal and I need a sun holiday ASAP. (Does anyone want to buy me a ticket? Anyone?) Did anyone feel like January is always the longest? “What day is it?” “January 74th.” Wheeew. Despite the longness of January, let’s move onto some of my favourites of the month! Notebook Therapy I love stationery. I have tons of notebooks, coloured pens, pencils, coloured pencils, everything and I…

    Book Highlights of 2016

I was inspired by Amy’s post recently on her year in books and thought it’d be a good idea for a post, as well! As an avid reader, I have been slacking these past few years when it comes to reading. When I was younger I used to go through books like water, but these days with work and other social commitments (I’m really just talking Netflix here, btw), I’ve found I don’t read as much.

    We’re All Mad Here

This post would have been up yesterday if it weren’t for my spectacular laziness. Hello, beauties! How is everyone? It’s been a while since my last post. Hope you haven’t missed me too much. I can’t lie – I have missed blogging a little bit, but with work and other social endeavours I am always so tired when I get home that the only thing I can do is read or watch a film. Just about. I haven’t caught up on all of my TV shows in a week – *shock horror* – and I am now reading 4 books at the same time. As you do. This week was a long one…

    Boxer Handsome

A book that captures my attention is a book that I will most likely read again and again. Set against the backdrop of East-End London, Anna Whitwham’s debut novel, Boxer Handsome, tells the story of Bobby and Connor. Two boys fighting over a girl. Fiction or non-fiction, it’s always the same with you lads, isn’t it? When I think boxing, I immediately think Manny Pacquiao. Mainly because I’m half Filipino (if you hadn’t already guessed from previous blog posts. I can wax lyrical about the Philippines for days. Weeks. Months, even), and also because his nickname, Pacman, tickles me pink. So, to be introduced to a world of boxing I…
