The Versatile Blogger Award

So, this is a different kind of award I’ve been nominated for and I’m actually very excited and thankful!

When looking up what VBA stood for exactly I came across this: “consider the quality of the writing, the uniqueness of the subjects covered, the level of love displayed in the words on the virtual page.” I have been putting in a lot of work into my posts as of late, in an effort to improve my writing skills, so I’m glad that someone out there is recognising it! I hope to put out even more awesome posts over the next couple of months, and start a few more blog series.

Thank you to Jun for nominating me! 🙂

7 random facts about me

I usually have to rack my brain really hard when it comes to facts about me. I have no idea why it’s so hard for me to come up with a simple list, but here we go…

  1. When I was little I cycled through things I wanted to be when I was older, like my underwear… first it was a ballerina, then a graphic designer, then an illustrator, then an architect. I think at one point I might have even wanted to be an astronaut, but that’s a whole other story.
  2. I’m extremely self-conscious about my hair, as I have pretty severe alopecia. I thank God everyday for real human hair wigs and weaves, because without them I’d probably be a hot mess. Say what you want about people who wear a lot of weave, but if it’s what makes them feel comfortable then so be it.
  3. Zendaya is my style icon, as of late. I get major hair/jawline envy when I see pictures of her, and her style just makes me ?
  4. This one time in primary school, my reading teacher tried to tell me I could read only 3 pages a night. I actually lost my sh*t, and my mum had to come in and tell her off because why is she trying to hinder my reading progress? If I want to devour the whole book in one night, let me, dammit!
  5. I am severely allergic to all nuts. One taste or touch and I can break out into hives, my tongue can swell, my throat can swell and I could basically die. It’s a fun life I live.
  6. At night I lay in bed and dream of all the places I want to travel too. This then makes me mad because I have no money to travel to this places, and then I end up surfing on my laptop to see if there’s any cheap flights basically tormenting myself. It’s a vicious cycle.
  7. I really, really, really enjoy watching cat videos. And looking at cats on Instagram. And just cats. CATS.

Lastly, here are the 15 bloggers I nominate!

Can’t wait to read all your posts!

  • Nancy

Yayayayay, congratulations on the Versatile blogger award! I haven’t heard of this before, so it’s good to see something new aside from the Liebster award. It’s cute when kids want to think of what they want to be when they grow up. I don’t even know how I set myself impossible goals to be a pharmacist!!!! I can’t believe the teacher tried to limit your reading standards! It’s dumb because teachers are supposed to make you excel and this is why kids are only meeting the minimal criteria. Good on your mom to tell her off~

You still got a lot ahead of you in life! Plentyty time to travel :). And cats are AMAZINGGG

    • Chynna

Thanks, giiiirl! Wow, pharmacist… far cry from what you’re doing now, hahaha. Listen, that teacher was a dumb dumb and if I see her again I will ‘ner-ner’ in her face because I’m way more intellectual for more reading more than she told me to. Ugh.

  • Tara

Thanks for the nomination, Chynna! I enjoyed reading the seven facts about you :3 I think there’s nothing wrong with weaving, especially since you suffer from alopecia. I’m sorry you suffer from that, though! That’s gotta be a pain.

And yayyy to your mum supporting your reading and telling that teacher off. I’d never heard of any teachers telling someone to only read so little each day! Just, wow!

    • Chynna

No problem, Tara! Definitely is, but I’ve had it since I was 7 so I’ve always had it and I’ve known nothing else – so I’m kind of used to it. Still it is pretty hard D:

My mum is the bees knees!

  • Olivia

I like your 7 facts a lot! Although, at the first fact I thought for a second you wanted to be underwear when you were older XD That’s really stupid of your reading teacher, too. I was like you, never wanting to sleep because I just wanted to finish all my books! (I still am like that, oops…)

  • Jhanz

Congrats on getting nominated and I really enjoyed knowing more about you. 🙂 And I would have to agree, if people like to wear weaves, so be it. If it makes them happy, then why not, right? 🙂

  • Chantelle

Congrats and thanks for the nomination. 😀

I love cats too. Your fourth fact amuses me because I teach literature. I always tell my students to read as much as they want–just don’t spoil the story for their classmates. I love it when they read more because then it means that they’re excited and into it. If they finish early, I have other books ready to suggest for them.

    • Chynna

      Thank you!

Haha, cats are amazing <3 See, you are an AWESOME teacher. We should be encouraging our children to be soaking up so many books!
