The Food Diaries // 002

Let’s take it international!

Last year, I had the fortune to go to Barcelona for a couple of days with some friends. Whilst there I experienced some of the nicest food, ever. From churros to the tastiest bubblegum ice cream, I was in food heaven all the time. I will never forget, however, the burger I had at Makamaka Beach Burger Cafe.

Boasting ‘¡Burgers y Besos!’, the food was so delicious. Located right near the beach, it’s a nice spot to chill after lounging about all day doing nothing.

Now, I’m not saying that you have to trek halfway across the world for a burger, but you might want to give it a think over. 😛

We did have to wait quite a while for a table, but that was to be expected as it was very popular with the locals and the tourists. We were seated at a tiny table with rickety chairs, but for some reason, I didn’t mind. It added to the feel and made it, I guess, a bit more authentic. It was like you were chilling in your garden on that chair you’ve had for years, but you don’t want to give up just yet.

Besides, the food definitely made up for the seating situation. There was so much to choose; from burgers (obviously) to salads to their amazing sounding desserts.

After a long decision and lots of debating on everybody’s part, I finally decided on the Big Maka. In long: The Ultimate Beach Burger! 200 grammes of beef, grilled peppers, bacon, caramelised onion, gruyere cheese, & bbq sauce.

One word: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

My tummy is rumbling just thinking about this burger. Just looking at the picture is making me drool. I could definitely do with one of these right about now. It was an explosion of tastes in my mouth. It was gorgeous. It was everything.

Don’t even get me started on their homemade fries… we went for their garlic and parmesan fries with garlic, rosemary, thyme and parmesan cheese. Heavenly.

That bread? All of the yeses.

If… no, when I go back to Barcelona I am definitely heading back to Makamaka. Can you blame me?

Oh. Em. Gee. Chynna, I just ate, and I’m now starving! Those burgers do look delicioso, but it’s the fries that really have caught my attention. I love homemade fries, and just . . . sjfkjsklaj;fa;jdf NOM. If I’m ever in Barcelona, I’ll be sure to stop by this burger joint! 😀

I do not blame you one bit. I am now starving at 1:19 am in the morning Lol Regardless, yummy food in those pictures and I too, would go back if I was back in that region of Spain.

It’s posts like this that make me hate being a finicky eater! The pictures always look so good but then I’m like “whoa but is it ACTUALLY GOOD?” and then I feel sick. XD

That can of Coke, though… ah yes. DELICIOUS.
