    Life Lately 6

What’s going on in the land of Chynna? When I first decided to write another Life Lately post, I wasn’t sure I’d have anything to write about but then I started doing my bullet points (something I usually do when I’m writing blog posts) & I came up with quite a few things! Life, in general, has actually been really, really good. January 2019 is probably one of the best January’s I’ve ever had. Usually, right after Christmas and New Year, I fall into a deep pit of “OMG, it’s a new year, I MUST project a new me to everyone and let everyone know my goals” but I almost…

    Travel Bucket List 2018

If I could I would quit my job and go travelling. And whilst I know that there are jobs out there that will allow me to travel and work at the same time, I don’t know if that is something I could do. Perhaps with time and research, it could become a possibility but for now, I like the fact that I have a stable paycheck which allows me to save and then go to the places that I really want to go. So, in saying that I, of course, have a travel bucket list. Mutay and I sat down when we went to Edinburgh last February and came up…

    Unapologetically Filipinx Jamaican

“They’re your children? Are they adopted?” I remember standing at the bus stop feeling like a melon because a random stranger had asked my mother this question. She was offended, as anyone rightly would be. I was left with a sense that despite my mix I could never truly express my Filipinxness. I felt ashamed. When we think about identity, we usually focus on what we can see. If you were to look at me, you would probably be able to tell that I’m biracial. Living in London I have always had a sense of multiculturalism, which I know I am so blessed to have but growing up there was…

    The Food Diaries // 012

I always find there’s no need to go out and eat Filipino food when I can just get it at home. I actually only visited a Filipino restaurant for the first time in London a few years back – totally worth it; but you’d understand why I don’t need to really go. It’s like for our Christmas lunch at work, my colleague suggested a place called Dutchies that specialises in Jamaican food – again, why? When I get that at my Lola’s every week? Anyway, I digress. Whilst I was in the Philippines, I actually got to meet up with Tiff of The Pandie Explorer for lunch! It was so lovely…

    Boracay, You Sexy Beach!

I was reading through some old posts earlier on this week, and I stumbled across a post from 2014 in which I listed the ‘Top 10 Places I’d Like to Visit‘. Whilst I’m far from completing even half of the list, I can proudly say that I have now visited Amsterdam and now, finally, after many years, I’ve visited Boracay. How do I even begin to explain Boracay? That magical little island famous for its white sand beaches and is honestly one of the most relaxing places on Earth. If you’re looking for paradise, well look no further… Day 1 I realised that at this point I had been up early…

It’s More Fun in the Philippines

I really tried to jump on the Blogmas band wagon, but I fell off way back when and it’s probably not going to happen. Now I’m just behind in my blog posts.. lol, such a failure. This won’t be like my usual travel posts where I detail what I did on each day because honestly most of the days I spent sleeping and eating. It was much needed. As y’all know, unless you don’t follow me on Instagram, I was recently in the Philippines for just under two weeks. It was mainly for family and for my Lola’s memorial as it has been a year since she passed away, but…

    Life Lately

Lets do a roundup of Chynna’s life lately. In between working and sleeping and mostly eating, I haven’t had a change to properly update you guys on what has been happening in my life. I am mostly active on Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram so follow me there if you want minute to minute updates on how boring my life is. Jk ~ it’s actually pretty decent. We’re in August now, which also happens to be my birthday month (clearly the best month to be born in, IMO), and I still can’t believe that the year has flown by so quickly already. Considering how shit 2016 has been, in terms of…

    How to Be a Seattlite

I actually don’t know how to be one, but I felt like that title would grab people’s attention. Perhaps you have to go around drinking coffee that isn’t from Starbucks and not be bothered about the rain, because it rains all the time. In that case… I’ve got it down to a T because I do that in London, anyway. News that Taylor Swift had gotten together with Tom Hiddleston exploded all over the Internet, whilst I was in the US, and I can’t lie… it infuriated me. So, I drowned my sorrows in food and decided to not let the likes of a blonde bimbo get to me. Ahem.…

    We’re All Mad Here

This post would have been up yesterday if it weren’t for my spectacular laziness. Hello, beauties! How is everyone? It’s been a while since my last post. Hope you haven’t missed me too much. I can’t lie – I have missed blogging a little bit, but with work and other social endeavours I am always so tired when I get home that the only thing I can do is read or watch a film. Just about. I haven’t caught up on all of my TV shows in a week – *shock horror* – and I am now reading 4 books at the same time. As you do. This week was a long one…

    Barrio Fiesta sa London 2014

It’s times like this that I’m so happy that I have Filipino blood running through my veins. “It’s more fun in the Philippines” is an understatement. Barrio Fiesta is a festival that will make you crave going to the Philippines so bad, you’ll be checking flight times on your phone whilst jamming to Sam Milby. It just reminded me of my holiday to the Philippines, two years ago. How much fun I had, and how much food I ate, and how friendly Filipinos are. I’m planning to go back, next year. To be honest, I’m planning to go to a lot of places, next year. Isn’t that everybody’s plan? 10 minutes…
