And We’re Back
Okay, so I didnāt have a planned date of when Iād be back hence why I took an indefinite hiatus. There were several times where I did open up a blank document but literally my mind was all over the place, so that didnāt work out. In between more hair loss, heart break and just the overall stress of life I really havenāt had much time to think about blogging. I have missed it, though! A lot. Iāve been lurking, as I said I would, and I’ve been seeing everyoneās achievements and I am so proud ā¤ļø Yāall are bringing a tear to my eye. Youāre probably wondering what Iāve really…

The Food Diaries // 013
First things first – I hate being misled. If you’re offering all you can eat KBBQ for lunch AND dinner, that is what I expect to have when I turn up for lunch. It even advertises this fact outside the restaurant, too. I should have really taken a picture of the poster outside as evidence, but whatever. Despite this misfortunate event, I still had a somewhat enjoyable experience at Kalbi Korean BBQ & Sushi. Kalbi Korean BBQ & Sushi restaurant is situated in Islington and was fortunately only a one bus journey from where I live. From my research, it is also one of the very few places in London that do…

¿Dónde estÔ la biblioteca?
I’m back from Barcelona with a wicked tan and a penchant for saying “Hola!” and “Gracias!”, all the time. Dear Barcelona, When I visited you two years ago, you took my heart. I vowed I would return, and whilst it took me two years to make it back – I did. You didn’t disappoint. From your astonishing views to your chilled out vibes and amazing weather, everything about you is a hundred and ten percent perfect. I didn’t want to leave, but alas it is back to reality for me. It won’t be long til I’ll be back. Adiós. DAY 1 We almost missed our coach to the airport, and the…

Why I Love Weekends (When I Have Them Off)
It feels so much better not to have to post on a schedule. Not that there’s anything wrong with posting on a schedule, but I remember last year when I felt the need to post at least 3 times a week and with work and other commitments, it felt too much like a chore and sapped the fun out of it a little bit. Here’s a visual representation of last year: Nevertheless, I feel more at ease now that I blog when I want to. Got my cup of coffee, I’ve lit my Glade Honey & Chocolate Candle and I’m listening to Apple Music’s playlist ‘R&B Gems: 2013’ because why not –…

MCM London Comic Con 2014
What. A. Weekend. I’m still knackered from that one day, but it was totally worth it. If you follow me on Twitter, then you most likely know that I went to London Comic Con on Saturday. As Two-Face. This picture and this lady were my inspiration and whilst it’s not exactly the same, I think the likeness is striking. I’m pretty proud of what I managed to pull together in the end. The fact that I got recognised whilst at Comic Con was even better and when the group I was with were asked to take pictures, etc. So awesome. I went to my friend’s house the night before, so…

The Month of Turn UP
I’m not really sure how it happened, but I’veĀ somehow managed to get most of August booked up doing absolutely everything. It started with a Mexican Food Fiesta cooked by yours truly, in which I tried my hand at making watermelon agua frescaĀ using this recipe. Not trying to boast, but it was delicious. Next thing I knew I was filling up all available spots with things to do. To be fair, it IS my birthday month, so you can excuse me for wanting to turn up every single day. Although 22 isn’t exactly a big milestone, it is still a pivotal moment in our lives (I’m quoting Mutay, here, btw). Mutay…

Boxer Handsome
A book that captures my attention is a book that I will most likely read again and again. Set against the backdrop of East-End London, Anna Whitwham’s debut novel, Boxer Handsome, tells the story of Bobby and Connor. Two boys fighting over a girl. Fiction or non-fiction, it’s always the same with you lads, isn’t it? When I think boxing, I immediately think Manny Pacquiao. Mainly because I’m half Filipino (if you hadn’t already guessed from previous blog posts. I can wax lyrical about the Philippines for days. Weeks. Months, even), and also because his nickname, Pacman, tickles me pink. So, to be introduced to a world of boxing I…

Word of the Day: Turnt
Step 1: Purchase all the alcohol from your local convenience store.Ā I honestly mean ALL the alcohol. Cider, beer, alcopops, and tequila ā basically anything you can your hands on. Drink responsibly š Step 2: Stake out the perfect location to see the fireworks. This can be somewhat of a mission if you live in London. Usually they do the fireworks by the London Eye, however, this is a problem in that there are always way too many people. It can get crowded and sweaty and drunk people will probably accost you. My tip, if you live in London, is to go to Parliament Hill. Youāll be miles away from…
