It’s actually been a really long time since I wrote a blog post. Almost a month?

In my previous post, I did mention that it was my birthday month, which explains why I was too busy to write anything. I mean, I hardly tweet anymore! The only thing that gets updated regularly is my Instagram – so, if you’re interested in what I get up to on a daily basis follow me on there. My birthday month has also made me very broke, just because two of my close friends are also born in August and we’re all grouped right together at the end. This means that my money flew away into travel, food and presents. Totally worth it though.

My birthday? It was actually the best birthday I’ve had in a while because I got to spend it with both family and friends. In the morning, me, my mum and little sister (who isn’t going to be that little anymore on the 4th as she’ll be turning 14  x_x) went to Westfield to do a little shopping. I got my free gift from BodyShop which you get on your birthday if you have their loyalty card and also a free hand massage. The girl who served me couldn’t believe that I turned 21 that day – said I looked about 18/19. Haha, well thanks! The number of people who have told me this in the past few weeks is ridiculous. I had some grandma ask me if I’ve left school already, indicating she thought I was 16.  @_@

I bought a few things, but not much, and then went to go get my nails done. I’ve never had my nails done before but it was nice. Really relaxing, cause you just chill and let them do their thing. After I went home to chill for a bit before heading out for my birthday dinner with friends. I actually planned the whole night out a while ago – getting tables booked, numbers right, travel plans, etc. I’m a stickler for things going right, and honestly, it couldn’t have gotten any more perfect.

I chose a Mexican restaurant called Mestizo for my birthday dinner and the food there was amazing. I had some chicken thing with vegetables in some sauce that was a little spicy. Best thing? We all got free margaritas for checking into Foursquare. Bonus! I had friends from my secondary school, my close friend whom I’ve known since I was 4, my best friend, and friends from university who came to help me celebrate. Couldn’t have asked for anything more, to be honest.

Do you know what the highlight of my day was? Me, Mutay and two of my friends were on our way to the restaurant when we got stopped by a policewoman asking us to walk the other way around because they were filming something on that road. At first, I didn’t know what they were filming and wasn’t too bothered really. Until I spotted Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman!!!! I screamed so loudly that Martin Freeman actually turned around and spotted me and was looking at me like, “What the hell?!” I managed to get a picture of them from behind but there were too many barriers/security. Still, the BEST thing to happen ever. Also, it means they’re filming Sherlock series 3 which needs to come back NOW.

After the restaurant, we all went to a bar called Adventure Bar which so fun. Most people bought me birthday drinks plus I had two drinks for myself which should spell trouble but I didn’t really care. After all, you only turn 21 once 🙂 #YOLO By the end of the night, the bartender was twerking upside down against the wall to ‘Twerk It’ by Busta Rhymes ft. Nicki Minaj. Funniest thing, ever.

Overall, it was an amazing birthday and I am so grateful to the people who came to help me celebrate.

I am also so thankful that I have reached the age of 21. God is good.

Now I think it’s time for me to visit the USA… Las Vegas ain’t ready for me.
