Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I no longer have a laptop and so posting will be sporadic to say the least. I’m currently writing this on the family’s laptop, which is the oldest laptop in the world it seems. It’ll do for now, but I can’t upload videos and pictures due to the fact that 1) it’s incredibly slow, and 2) the laptop might suffer a breakdown. It’s /that/ old.
Things have been incredibly busy since my last post, and now that we are in September I’m taking a step back and trying to figure out my options. You can’t stay in one place forever, and so…
I’ve decided I want to do a creative writing postgraduate.
It’s still all up in the air and I’m hoping to do it next year, but who knows? What I do know for sure is that I will get there. Somehow, someday, you’ll find me in a lecture hall again.
Anyway, a lot has happened since my birthday. Before my birthday I got to see Childish Gambino in concert, AGAIN. If you were here for my Blog Everyday In February, you’ll remember I saw him then too. Honestly, hands down, the best concert I’ve ever been too. When he took off his shirt, it was all over for my ovaries. All over.
After my birthday I YOLO’d and decided to go to Notting Hill Carnival… in the rain. I don’t mean drizzle either – I mean torrential downpour that some of the side streets were flooded. Thanks to alcohol and a variety of other factors (ahem), I had so much fun and the rain was no bother. So much dancing, so much music, so much booty popping. So much.
For Mutay’s birthday we went to Bird in Shoreditch, which specialises in chicken and waffles. I’m aware this is an American dish and I can’t compare it to chicken and waffles in America, but all I can say is that it was DELICIOUS. Like, the craving for fried chicken is really bad. Good for my belly, bad for my skin. Oh, fried goodness, why must you torment me so?
We then headed to the Four Quarters, which is an arcade bar. They have all the old arcade games like Tron and Pacman and upstairs you can play Super Mario Kart on SNES. I’m talking old school controllers, bean bags and a lot of shouting on my part to try and get first place. There were also a lot of street fighter games and Asteroids. Definitely need to head back soon.
So, there’s my mini life update. As I mentioned at the beginning of August, September is going to be a quiet month with just a few birthdays scattered here and there. I’ll keep you posted when I can.
Hope y’all have a good September 🙂

I’m so sorry you no longer have a laptop. I no longer have one either, as I decided on a tablet, but my circumstances don’t count towards yours. I hope whenever you do post again, you’ll have better news. Anyhow, sounds like you had a great time!
Have a good September, as well 🙂

Sorry about the laptop issue. 🙁 Take your time with posting, and we look forward to hearing more from you.
Postgraduate in creative writing? That sounds pretty interesting. I was always curious about the specifics of that kind of programs. Besides writing of course…Good luck with your program once the time comes!
Quiet month with a few birthdays scattered throughout the month? I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a party month to me! Thank you for the kind wishes, and I hope you have a great September too! 🙂

Oh no! What happened to your MBP? ;~;. Hopefully you can drop by once in a while! Even if you’re doing it from your phone!!
Woo! Creative writing postgrad sounds like fun… FUN! YES FUN! But do what will benefit you whether it’s the satisfaction of having a prestigious degree or giving you pathways for a better career :).
Your birthday sounds like fun! You need to spend one of your birthdays in LA one of these days…! I haven’t had chicken and waffles before :o. But I’m seeing it become a trend like ramen burgers.
Hope everything is going great for you and get a new laptop soon!!! Or an iPad… Or a tablet. TAKE YOUR PICK.

After 6 years my MB simply gave up. It was a grave day D:

Ah, that’s great that you’ve decided to go on to postgraduate study! I can imagine that when I graduate I’ll be longing to be back in a lecture theatre and so I am determined to keep studying.
I’d love to go to Notting Hill Carnival. I hear it’s a lot of fun, but it’s a shame about the rain. 🙁
We need somewhere like Four Quarters in Liverpool. Trust me, I’d never leave!
