    Life Lately 5

September has been a bit hectic, ain’t it? I didn’t expect my September to be so busy! I haven’t had a chance to sit down and plan posts, which is something that I usually do. Anyway, here’s a post now and a round up of my September. ALOPECIA AWARENESS September marked Alopecia Awareness Month and so I made a big decision to shave the remainder of my hair off! I didn’t have much left anyway, but there was always this feeling that that’s still my hair and shaving it is a big deal. For once I can actually look in the mirror and not cringe anymore. It’s still a bit…

    Meeting Amy

My blogger meet up list is becoming extensive and I am LOVING it. This is what I love about the blogosphere – the opportunity to meet up with people you’d probably never meet in your day-to-day life. A couple of weeks ago, I got to meet up with Amy and it was definitely a long time coming. She messaged me to say that she’d be in London and I just knew we HAD to meet up. Gotta take every opportunity you can, especially as she lives all the way in Leeds! I decided that we should go to Carluccio’s, as you can’t go wrong with some good ol’ Italian. We…

    Life Lately 4

In my “And We’re Back” post I mentioned that I hadn’t really done much whilst on my hiatus, but that is actually a lie. Looking back, I actually did quite a bit including meeting Pauline and Hamdah, seeing Tiff again and going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour and eating a helluva lot of KBBQ. Here’s a quick life update for y’all including plenty of food pics, so settle in with a cuppa tea and see what I’ve been up to. BARBER SHOP CHRONICLES Mutay always finds the best things to do around London and if it weren’t for her I’d probably just be in my bed watching Netflix and…

    And We’re Back

Okay, so I didn’t have a planned date of when I’d be back hence why I took an indefinite hiatus. There were several times where I did open up a blank document but literally my mind was all over the place, so that didn’t work out. In between more hair loss, heart break and just the overall stress of life I really haven’t had much time to think about blogging. I have missed it, though! A lot. I’ve been lurking, as I said I would, and I’ve been seeing everyone’s achievements and I am so proud ❤️ Y’all are bringing a tear to my eye. You’re probably wondering what I’ve really…

    Indefinite Hiatus

It’s been a long time since I’ve put my blog on an official hiatus, but here it is. So much has been going on these past few weeks and I’m not in the right state of mind to be writing or making good content. I’ll be taking a breather because everyone needs a breather. I’m not sure when I’ll return, but I will be lurking around still reading people’s blogs. Ciao for now. TL;DR – I’m tired, guys.

    Let’s Talk About Alopecia

I want to start a new series. I guess this would be the second post in the series as I previously posted Let’s Talk About Sex, Baby. My aim is to open up a discussion and get people discussing things they never usually would or learn things they didn’t know about before. I wrote about alopecia once on my blog back in 2011 and even then it was only brief. I want to start a conversation about what alopecia is and what it means to have alopecia. Let’s get the technical stuff out of the way first: What is alopecia? Alopecia is the general medical term for hair loss. There…

    Anaphylaxis Campaign

I’ve wanted to raise money for a charity for the longest time. It wasn’t until reading Tara’s post that I got inspired! There are two charities that are close to my heart: Alopecia UK and Anaphylaxis Campaign. This year, I’ve pledged to raise money for both charities! I have yet to decide how I want to raise money for Alopecia UK, but I will keep you all updated! However… in September 2017, I will be trekking 26.2 miles around London to raise money, support and awareness for The Anaphylaxis Campaign. WHAT IS ANAPHYLAXIS? “Anaphylaxis” (pronounced anna-fill-ax-is) is used to describe to describe an extreme and severe allergic reaction. The whole…

    Life Lately 3

I didn’t have any preplanned posts lined up, but as I’ve made the effort to post every Sunday since the beginning of this year I felt it necessary to blog today! Here’s a rundown of everything that has happened so far, this year: January I took my mother for afternoon tea at the British Museum. Thanks to a Groupon voucher, we had a wonderful time and the deal even included Prosecco. My mother doesn’t really drink so I got to have hers as well, ha. I finally took the plunge and started to promote my blog posts on Instagram. I know some have been doing this for ages, so this is obviously…

    2016 Reflection

I took the plunge and bought myself The Happiness Planner. It’s “a planner/journal that embraces the power of positive thinking, mindfulness, gratitude, and self-development” and it’s something I am so excited to get started with. I also have my daily planner that Georgie got me for Christmas, so I will be making use of both of them this year. Whilst on the website, I stumbled across free printables for 2016 reflection and 2017 planning and thought it would be a good idea to take some of the questions and turn them into a blog post! I only decided to do the 3-page printable, but I will definitely be doing the other ones…

A Letter to my 18-year old self

You can read the letter to my 16-year old self here. Dear Chynna, Where do I even start with you? You’re a literal mess and still about boys ruling your life. I know… you don’t purposely do this. If only time travel existed and I could go back in time and shout at you for getting in a relationship so quickly. In fact if I owned a DeLorean or a TARDIS, Lord knows I would travel so far back to save you. At the same time, there’s all that lesson learnt and shit and you have to learn from your mistakes and you grow from them, blah blah blah. Whatever.…
