We’re All Mad Here
This post would have been up yesterday if it weren’t for my spectacular laziness.
Hello, beauties! How is everyone?
It’s been a while since my last post. Hope you haven’t missed me too much. I can’t lie – I have missed blogging a little bit, but with work and other social endeavours I am always so tired when I get home that the only thing I can do is read or watch a film. Just about. I haven’t caught up on all of my TV shows in a week – *shock horror* – and I am now reading 4 books at the same time. As you do.
This week was a long one for me. The past weekend was the first one I had off in the past 2 weeks, because my fast self decided to do overtime. To be fair, I definitely need to considering the amount of holidays I now have booked.
Discovered this extremely cool bar in Clapham Junction called Rise46 thanks to my friend who held her birthday there. It has a 1920s theme and they do live music until 10pm on Friday and then there’s a DJ afterward. I was not prepared when ‘Work’ came on. At all.
I didn’t get home until 3am, and it’s a wonder I made it in on time the Saturday for 10am. I was extremely hanging. It was not a pretty sight. Thankfully, I only worked until 2pm, but my mum forced me to go food shopping with her afterward. I made her buy me a burrito from the Filishack in Peckham Sq as a reward for even being able to drag my body back out again.
Yassssss ???? @FiliShack bringing it in with that niiice burrito ? pic.twitter.com/u3pWaZQDp4

It was soooo good. Their grilled chicken inasal style and the use of spicy sauce had me finishing off my sister’s half as well. After she let me because she couldn’t finish it, of course. I didn’t just take it from her – I’m not that mean.
I also discovered some gems sitting in an old photo album in my grandma’s house. I am 2 kewt 4 yew.
In other news, we had a desk decorating competition at work with the theme of Alice in Wonderland. If you follow me on Twitter then you would have seen my utter excitement at this. Alice in Wonderland happens to be one of my favourite books and my tattoo is a quote from it, “We’re all mad here” with the Cheshire Cat’s grin.
My friend and I took a little trip to IKEA, which is heaven on Earth, to get supplies but the only thing I ended up getting was a lantern for myself and some tea lights and literally one thing on my list ?
IKEA is literal house goals. I could happily spend my whole day in there. If I had the money, I would deck my whole room out with IKEA furniture and accessories. Anyway, Despite office politics, we managed to pull off a really good display. We even had a little tea party going on *and* I dressed up as the White Rabbit. AND WE WON.

It was a lot of fun and I am super chuffed that we won because we did put a lot of effort into it. Love a bit of Alice.
Finally, yes finally, I had my first weekend off in 2 weeks and it was the most glorious weekend ever. I went out for Chinese on the Friday evening and then went to the cinema to see Grimsby. The most disgusting, vile, gross film I have watched this year. Yet it has Sacha Baron Cohen written all over it and I couldn’t help but laugh, so much. That Billy Cosby joke got me. Like wow.
The next day, I went galavanting around Greenwich and managed to buy 3 books in the space of about 10 minutes. Do not let me loose in a charity shop for too long because I will literally spend all of my money. I’ve already started ready ‘Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl’ and it is absolute filth. Love it already.

I also had my first ramen burger, which was so good and so tasty and so oh my goodness. I’m always eating, I swear.
We also celebrated Mother’s Day in the UK on March 6th and that was a fun affair. Love posting old pictures of my mum and I – I apparently still the same face in one particular picture of us, haha. Ooooh, I also had my first personal trainer session alongside Mutay on Sunday. MY BODY IS KILLING ME. We went into the weight section for the first time in our lives and at first you’re like, oh this is nothing. Then the next day, you feel it. I mean feel it. It’s crazy. It was fun, though, and I’m looking forward to our next session 🙂
PS. LEO WON A FREAKING OSCAR. FINALLY.

I love those old photos! You are so adorable!
Alice in Wonderland sounds like it’d be such a fun theme. IKEA was amazing when I was in college because the furniture wasn’t as expensive as other places. I still have several IKEA pieces in my house! Anyway, you guys did a great job on decorating. I love how it all turned out, and I also love your White Rabbit outfit. Congrats on winning!
I’ve heard of the ramen burger, but I don’t think there’s a place near me that does it. I’m curious about its taste!
I’m glad you had a good weekend!
Tara
Glad to see a post from you! I can totally understand work and social activities can drain you! I’m in the same shoes as you, so I haven’t been blogging as much either, but unlike you, I think my life’s been fairly boring and mundane lately, haha!
That 1920s theme restaurant is CALLING MY NAME. The 1920s is my favourite time period, and I love anything from that era, so I love restaurants and whatever using that as their theme!
IKEA scares me, honestly. One opened up in Korea, and I’ve yet to make it because I heard it’s super crowded X_X; I’ve been to Costco, which was pretty bad, so I am not certain if I want to tackle IKEA any time soon.
And ahhh! Ramen burger. I’ve heard of those, but I haven’t tried them yet! I hope to try it one day because it’s just too weird of a food not to try! XD
It’s been a lovely update, Chynna! Hope to see more from you soon 🙂

I wish I can be pro enough to read 4 books at once XD. Good to treat yo’self to something nice with all of the hard work you’ve done! It sounds like you had a fun time out there dancing :D.
Aww, little Chynna is cute! :3
IKEA is definitely heaven on Earth. I love all of their home arrangements and makes me want to have an awesome house ;~;.
Congrats on winning the theme party ;D. Your outfit is 110% on point ;).
!!! I’ve been wanting to try the ramen burger for a while. For some reason, I keep having this idea that the ramen is uncooked instant ramen X’D. But I’m sure it’s better than that. *starts drooling*********

It sounds like you’ve had a busy time recently, I completely understand though, I’ve been pretty busy too, it’s often hard to fit blogging in there seeing as I always want to make a good post so it goes through a lot of edits for definite. 😉
WOW, 4 BOOKS? GURL YOU NEED TO TELL ME HOW YOU DO THAT??? Because I’m so bad at it, like honestly. xD I can’t even read 1 book start to finish. D:
I absolutely melted at the site of your old photos, you are so freaking adorable, I just want to keep you in my pocket :”) SO CUTE!

I’m not good at blogging to any sort of schedule. I always say I’ll blog during the week, but as soon as I get home from work all I want to do is watch TV and play video games. Probably because I only have like 5 hours free time a day during the week. I find it easiest to blog at weekends, as long as I’m not too busy.
That food looks awesome. I think you need to be banned from posting food photos, especially when I’m like a whole floor away from the kitchen. I just want to order everything from the takeaway right now.
The desk decorating competition sounds amazing! Yours looks brilliant -the theme is so cool! And I love IKEA, I wish I could afford everything in there!
Michelle
Oh wow, that Alice and Wonderland theme thing looks amazing. I’m glad you had so much fun and you look awesome! Glad you’re back! I’ve and we’ve missed you! Huggles!
Joy
This is a late comment but glad to see you back! All of your vacations you have booked seem so amazing! I would love to travel but I’m sure that will happen someday. For now, I’ll live vicariously through your amazing adventures ?.
I saw your white rabbit outfit and you nailed it! It was so flippin’ cute. I’m glad you guys won!
IKEA is dangerous. We get almost everything there because we’re a young married couple with a mortgage, lol. No, but everything is so nice there. I almost never leave without something. Also, your burrito and ramen burger pictures are making a girl hungry!
Becca
That burrito looks sooo good! That spicy sauce sounds perfect for a burrito. Haha you finishing off your sister’s is usually how my family works too. If someone doesn’t finish their food, you bet someone else will finish it! There are no leftovers, haha.
IKEA is goals everything, for sure! I could spend all day there! The last time me and my mom went we spent the whole morning there and still could have stayed longer!
I’ve seen ramen burgers before! I can’t decide if it would be good or not, but it does look good and I try anything, haha.
